Ping An Healthcare and Technology (1833) has announced the integration of the DeepSeek AI model into its healthcare platform, aiming to enhance the company’s medical services with advanced artificial intelligence. This move places Ping An among the latest Chinese tech firms to embrace locally developed AI technology.
According to the company, the adoption of DeepSeek’s model will improve the platform’s diagnostic capabilities and provide personalized health management, enabling more accurate assessments by healthcare professionals. Ping An Health emphasized its continued commitment to the research and development of AI technology, leveraging DeepSeek’s large-scale AI model.
This announcement comes amid a growing trend among Chinese companies incorporating DeepSeek’s AI models. Major players such as Baidu (9888), Tencent (0700), Huawei, Alibaba (9988), Lenovo (0992), and Geely Automobile (0175) have also embraced the technology in recent weeks.
DeepSeek’s breakthrough in low-cost AI tools has had significant repercussions in the global tech market. The launch of its competitive AI technology led to a sharp drop in shares of US chip giant Nvidia and sparked heightened ambitions among Chinese companies in the AI sector. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently acknowledged DeepSeek’s achievements, praising its development of a chatbot comparable to ChatGPT. Altman also expressed intentions to meet DeepSeek’s team, although this meeting is not expected to take place during the upcoming AI Action Summit in Paris.
This partnership highlights China’s growing influence in the AI space, with local companies increasingly seeking to rival international tech giants.
