A 45-year-old woman was safely rescued from an overhead bridge near Nex Mall in Serangoon Central on the afternoon of April 2. The incident, which took place around 2:40 pm, prompted a swift response from both the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) and Singapore Police Force (SPF), with at least 15 officers at the scene.
A bystander captured the rescue operation on video, which was later shared on Xiaohongshu. The footage shows a rescue personnel securing the woman, who was wearing a white top, as she was situated on the shelter of the bridge. According to the police, the woman was apprehended under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act 2008. Authorities received the call for assistance at around 2:40 pm, and the woman was taken into care shortly thereafter.
