Yunnan’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) held a video conference on Tuesday to assess the potential public health risks following the 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28.
The session focused on evaluating possible health threats to Yunnan’s border regions, providing guidance for the province’s disease prevention and control efforts in the wake of the disaster.
Ding Wenfei, Director of the Yunnan CDC, emphasized the importance of proactive measures, including continuous monitoring, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness. He stressed the need for a swift response to safeguard public health, particularly through robust multi-channel surveillance and timely vaccination efforts in areas vulnerable to disaster-related health risks.
