UNMC Researchers Seek Participants for National Psoriasis Study
Researchers at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) are inviting individuals to participate in a national research initiative focused on psoriasis, known as the Forward Psoriasis Registry.
Led by Dr. Sarah Lonowski, the study aims to deepen the understanding of how psoriasis affects patients. Key areas of investigation include the effectiveness of therapies, patient satisfaction, and the identification of risk factors for related health issues such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and psoriatic arthritis.
The Forward organization, a non-profit dedicated to the study of psoriasis and other rheumatic diseases, is conducting this research. Notably, the study does not involve any medications or treatments; instead, participants will complete a series of questionnaires. The data collected will be utilized by researchers globally to enhance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies for psoriasis, focusing on treatment satisfaction and long-term health risks.
Participants will begin with a baseline questionnaire and will be asked to complete follow-up surveys every six months or as necessary for specific sub-studies.
